Gangbuk-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Soon-hee) is promoting the “Warm Neighborhood into the Forest” project to improve the residential environment of Insu-bong Supgil Village in collaboration with KCC (CEO Jung Jae-hoon), Green Umbrella (Chairman Hwang Young-gi), and the Low-rise Residential Regeneration Project Group (Director In Hyang-bong).
This project aims to create a residential environment that reflects the characteristics of the area and fosters a vibrant community. On the 27th, the district signed a business agreement with KCC, Green Umbrella, and the Low-rise Residential Regeneration Project Group to improve the residential environment of Insu-bong Supgil Village (around 516 Suyu-dong).
The signing ceremony took place at the Gangbuk-gu Office, attended by Lee Soon-hee, Mayor of Gangbuk-gu; Kim Sang-jun, KCC General Affairs/Asset Executive Director; Shin Jeong-won, Head of Social Contribution Cooperation at Green Umbrella; and In Hyang-bong, Director of the Low-rise Residential Regeneration Project Group.
According to the agreement, from this day forward, the four organizations will mutually cooperate to create a happy residential environment for the residents of Insu-bong Supgil Village. ▲ Gangbuk-gu will provide administrative support for project implementation ▲ KCC will provide financial support and employee volunteer activities ▲ Green Umbrella will oversee the planning of village-level environmental improvement projects ▲ The Low-rise Residential Regeneration Project Group will collect residents’ opinions and handle the practical aspects of environmental improvement projects.
Specifically, the four organizations plan to promote projects such as community activation education, art exhibitions, painting old fences, operating children’s cafeterias, and hosting village festivals.
Lee Soon-hee, Mayor of Gangbuk-gu, said, “We expect new changes in Insu-bong Supgil Village through this ‘Warm Neighborhood into the Forest’ project,” and expressed gratitude to the organizations supporting and carrying out the project.
Meanwhile, Insu-bong Supgil Village is located at the entrance of Bukhansan Mountain. In 2011, it was selected as a Green Parking Village, and in 2016, it won the grand prize at the Flowering Seoul Award contest, continuing its community activities. To support these community activities, Gangbuk-gu requested the Seoul Metropolitan Government to designate the area as a residential environment management project zone, and in 2017, Insu-bong Supgil Village was designated as such.
