Targeting Nearby New Apartment Complexes
Significantly Strengthened Food Stores... One-Stop Shopping
Health & Beauty (H&B) Specialty Store 'Lob's Plus'
Lotte Mart announced on the 27th that it will newly open the Uiwang branch with added customer stay-type content on the 30th. The Lotte Mart Uiwang branch is characterized by being planned as a ‘mall’ focused on groceries and content, in line with the large influx of new apartments in the surrounding area.
The first floor of the Uiwang branch is configured as a one-stop shopping store integrating food and non-food items, covering a total area of 1,400 pyeong (4,628㎡). Before the renewal, the first floor was dedicated to food, and the second floor was separated for daily necessities and toys. However, after the renewal, daily necessities, toys, and miscellaneous goods are operated together on the first floor, and a health & beauty (H&B) specialty store ‘LOHB’s Plus’ was newly opened to shorten the customer shopping route.
In addition, to strengthen groceries, the deli and refrigerated/frozen food areas were expanded by more than 50% compared to before. In particular, the deli corner was newly configured as a 19-meter-long ‘Long Deli Road,’ doubling the display area compared to before. Corresponding to the increased display area, the Uiwang branch deli corner newly offers about 10 additional food items such as pasta and salads, expanding beyond the previously high-frequency purchases of chicken and sushi.
The second floor is composed as an experiential content ‘mall’ with an area of 1,300 pyeong (4,297㎡). The Uiwang branch cultural center, boasting about 150 pyeong (495㎡), prepared special weekend classes for infants and young children using sensory play, art, and sports classes, considering that many customers are families with children under 10 years old due to the commercial district characteristics. Additionally, to allow small-group learning of musical instruments and art, one-on-one dedicated classrooms were introduced for the first time at the Lotte Mart cultural center.
To commemorate the renewal opening of Lotte Mart Uiwang branch, exclusive discount events will be held from the 30th. Until the 5th of next month, major food items such as bananas, grilled sirloin, and smoked duck will be offered at limited daily special prices. On the second floor, ‘ABC Mart’ offers a 10% discount on the purchase of one pair and a 20% discount on two pairs, and the SPA brand ‘TopTen,’ which integrates manufacturing and distribution, is running a buy-one-get-one-free event on all items. The cultural center is providing a first-come, first-served gift event for customers who apply for regular classes to celebrate the new opening, offering items such as Roombuyhome one-touch containers and cooler bags.
Kang Sung-hyun, CEO of Lotte Mart & Super, said, “Lotte Mart Uiwang branch is a ‘mall’ specialty store equipped not only with a grocery specialty store displaying abundant food but also experiential content such as Daiso and a cultural center where customers can stay for a long time,” adding, “Through this renewal, we will make customers recognize the Uiwang branch as a store they want to visit frequently.”
