Jang In-hwa, Chairman of POSCO Group, recently visited the POSCO Dongchon Daycare Center in Pohang, Gyeongbuk. While actively engaged in his '100-day on-site management' campaign, Chairman Jang personally took care not only of the main business sites but also of the in-house daycare center, a symbol of work-family balance.

The POSCO Dongchon Daycare Center, which Chairman Jang visited on the 17th, is a win-win type joint workplace daycare center attended not only by children of POSCO employees but also by children of partner company employees. Opened in 2020, it currently serves a total of 150 children of POSCO Group and partner company employees.

Chairman Jang greeted the children and gave them POSCO’s mascot doll, ‘Poseokho,’ as a gift. He also went around each classroom playing flour dough activities with the kids. He said, “Seeing the bright expressions of the children and teachers, I believe our employees can entrust their children with peace of mind,” adding, “We will continue to spare no support so that employees can reduce the burden of childcare and enjoy coming to work.”

Earlier, on the 7th, Chairman Jang met with working moms at the Gwangyang Steelworks in Jeonnam. As a working mother and an on-site manager, he listened to the difficulties and concerns of employees and discussed ways to grow at work while balancing work and childcare.

The next day, Chairman Jang, wearing a carnation on his chest, met six employees who are working simultaneously as parents and children, including a father and son who have worked for three generations at the Gwangyang Steelworks.

At this meeting, Chairman Jang said, “I have heard that employees working with their families have high loyalty and adaptability to the organization,” and added, “Let’s continue to make this a company where the whole family wants to come together.” He also emphasized the need to widely gather opinions from on-site employees to establish realistic safety standards so that the company can become a safer place for our families.
