'How to Support Eun-dun Youth'... Eungohyeop Holds Second Forum

Online Video Conference at 2 PM on the 28th
Presentation and Discussion on Support for Counseling and Activities for Eun-dun Youth

With an estimated 540,000 isolated and reclusive youth nationwide, domestic organizations that have been identifying and supporting reclusive and isolated individuals and their families are holding their second forum in the inaugural year of the central government's pilot project.


The Korea Association of Support Organizations for Reclusive and Isolated Individuals (Eungohyeop) announced that on the 28th at 2 PM, it will hold the 2nd forum titled "Reclusive and Isolated Youth: Examining the Key Elements of Support." The forum will be conducted via the Zoom video conferencing platform, and those wishing to participate can apply in advance.


'How to Support Eun-dun Youth'... Eungohyeop Holds Second Forum

This forum will be divided into two sessions: Session 1 focusing on counseling support for reclusive youth, and Session 2 on activity support for reclusive youth. The presenter for Session 1 is Professor Kim Hye-won of Hoseo University’s Department of Youth Culture Counseling, who also serves as the chairperson of the nonprofit organization Findown Youth. Professor Kim will specifically address the topic "What is important and how to provide counseling support for reclusive youth," covering initial, mid-term, termination, and follow-up counseling procedures, as well as dos and don'ts.


The presenter for Session 2 is Team Leader Baek Hee-jung of the Gwangju Support Center for Reclusive and Socially Withdrawn Individuals. Baek will present on "What is important and how to provide activity support for reclusive youth," categorizing the reclusive period into phases such as withdrawal, exploration, and activity, and outlining the characteristics and necessary directions for activity support for each phase.


There will also be discussions. For Session 1, Kim Jin-sun, Director of the Nowon-gu Youth Counseling and Welfare Center, and Kang Seok-jung, Team Leader of the Songpa-gu Out-of-School Youth Support Center, will participate. For Session 2, Lee Jeong-hyun, Secretary General of Working School, and Park Du-heon, Secretary General of the Knowledge Circulation Cooperative, are expected to join.
