D-2 Glocal Future Education Expo, Press Tour Held

The Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education held a press tour two days before the opening of the ‘2024 Korea Glocal Future Education Expo’ to introduce the main programs and exhibition facilities to the media.

The press tour, held on the 27th at the Yeosu World Expo Center, was attended by over 100 domestic and international journalists, reflecting high interest in the Glocal Future Education Expo, which is being held for the first time in Korea.

The press tour was divided into a briefing introducing the significance of the Glocal Future Education Expo and its main events, and a tour exploring key contents such as the Future Classroom and the International Education Hall.

During the tour of the main contents, participants visited ▲ Glocal Future Classroom ▲ Future Special Education Experience Hall ▲ International Education Hall ▲ Edutech Company Hall ▲ Provincial Education Hall ▲ Platform Company Hall, among others.

The Glocal Future Classroom, established in International Hall A at the Yeosu World Expo Center, consists of a total of six rooms: one kindergarten room, one elementary room, one middle school room, one project room, and one smart office. On this day, an actual class was conducted in the elementary room with 14 students participating.

The International Education Hall, where participants can experience the educational environments of 22 participating countries, the Future Special Education Experience Hall showcasing customized assistive technology devices, and the Provincial Education Hall, which provides an outlook on the future direction of education in Korea, were sequentially unveiled.

Park Sun-mi, the head of the promotion team, explained, “This expo is a stage that concretely shows the substance of the previously vague concept of ‘future education.’ It presents a new paradigm of region-centered glocal future education, including future classes for 2030 proposed by Jeonnam teachers and discussions on the direction of future education with world-renowned scholars and representatives from 22 participating countries.”

The ‘2024 Korea Glocal Future Education Expo’ is jointly hosted by the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education, the Ministry of Education, Jeonnam Province, and the Gyeongbuk Provincial Office of Education. Under the theme ‘Education of Coexistence, Sustainable Future,’ it will be held from the 29th of this month to the 2nd of next month at the Yeosu World Expo Center area.
