Seodaemun-gu Awards 7 Organizations for Sharing and Volunteer Activities

Seodaemun-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seong-heon) announced on the 27th that it recently commended seven organizations that have set an example in sharing and volunteer activities at the district office's large conference room.

Among the awardees, the band ‘Gunnamwayeo Riding Stella’ (vocalist Jo Woong) held the ‘Cafe Waterfall’ concert, which anyone can visit and enjoy, and the Korea Geotechnical New Materials Society (President Yoo Seung-kyung) donated 120kg of rice wreaths received at their regular general meeting to vulnerable residents.

The Seoul Regional Headquarters of the Korea Agriculture Protection Movement Headquarters (Secretary-General Kim Jeong-min) donated 270 sets of ‘Love Our Agricultural Products Packages’ to social welfare facilities in the district, while the Digital Seoul Culture & Arts University Practical Music Department performance team (President Kang Se-chan) and Myongji University Central Dance Club MGH (Representative Gong Seong-won) presented lively performances to citizens at the ‘2024 Seodaemun Spring Light Festival.’

The Seodaemun Car Force Cooperative (Chairman Jeon Na-mun) conducted free vehicle inspections in the first half of 2024 to ensure safe vehicle use for residents, and the local nonprofit organization Sangnoksoo (Secretary-General Ryu Kyung-ae) provided young disabled artists with opportunities to exhibit their works and offered audiences a chance to improve awareness of disabilities.

The district selects outstanding companies, organizations, and individuals every month who lead a virtuous cycle of sharing and volunteering and spread a positive image of the region through media exposure, awarding them the ‘District Government Media Promotion Commendation.’

At the awards ceremony, Mayor Lee Seong-heon expressed his gratitude, saying, “Various forms of contribution bring happiness to many residents and hope to those in need.”
