Over 400 Public Rental Homes for Non-Homeowners to Be Supplied This Year
Rapid Maintenance, Green Remodeling, and Enhanced Housing Support
Busan Metropolitan Corporation (BMC, President Kim Yonghak) announced on the 27th that it plans to supply approximately 400 units of purchased rental housing this year for young people, newlyweds, and others struggling with housing issues.
Purchased rental housing refers to public rental housing where the corporation acquires existing homes in urban areas, renovates them, and rents them out at prices lower than the market rate. BMC has been steadily acquiring about 200 units each year, and to date, has supplied and managed approximately 2,736 units. This year, BMC will newly acquire 200 units and, together with the currently managed units, will supply an additional total of 400 rental homes.
BMC began accepting applications for newlywed and newborn purchased rental housing residents in April, and will sequentially recruit residents for the following: ▲Youth category (including self-reliant youth) in June ▲General category in July ▲Youth category and long-term unleased purchased rental housing in August.
Additionally, BMC plans to expand the supply of purchased rental housing every year and strengthen support centered on demand by increasing opportunities for actual residents through tailored measures such as rolling applications, relaxed eligibility requirements, and improved supply procedures.
BMC also aims to increase resident satisfaction by improving the residential environment through systematic maintenance and green remodeling projects.
As of May this year, BMC has completed about 800 maintenance tasks for purchased rental housing and is providing a pleasant residential environment through proactive housing inspections and management.
In the second half of the year, BMC will further carry out the 'Green Remodeling Project' to enhance the energy efficiency of homes by installing high-performance insulation and LED lighting in aging houses.
Kim Yonghak, President of Busan Metropolitan Corporation, said, "We hope that this year's supply of purchased rental housing by BMC will help stabilize housing for households without homes," and added, "We will continue to supply quality housing to various groups and focus BMC's capabilities to ensure residents are satisfied with their living spaces."
Busan Urban Corporation will strengthen green remodeling, focusing on replacing lighting in aging rental housing.
