Holding a Practical Meeting of the Corporate Council
Discussion on Promoting Youth Employment and Developing Skilled Professionals

On the 24th, Icheon City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 27th that it held a practical meeting of the semiconductor company council to promote youth employment and foster professional manpower in the semiconductor industry.


Co-hosted with the Gyeonggi Small and Medium Venture Business Association, the meeting was attended by local semiconductor companies and educational institutions such as Doowon Technical College, Korea Polytechnic University Semiconductor Convergence Campus, Icheon Jeil High School, and Dasan High School.

The meeting involved various discussions to address difficulties in securing on-site manpower in the semiconductor industry and to resolve job mismatches. The city particularly promoted various semiconductor education projects, including the Icheon Semiconductor Talent Development Center, industry-commissioned education in the semiconductor department at Doowon Technical College, and the establishment of the Korea Polytechnic University Icheon Education Center, urging companies to show interest and participate. The Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency and the Eastern Branch of the Small and Medium Business Corporation also introduced various business support programs during the meeting.


Kim Kyung-hee, mayor of Icheon City, said, "The driving force behind the development of the semiconductor industry lies in the field," adding, "We will communicate frequently with companies to identify on-site difficulties and actively support them through collaboration with related organizations." Mayor Kim also stated, "We will promote specialized education tailored to the demands of the industrial field to strengthen the development of the semiconductor industry, a regional strategic industry, and solve employment issues."
