"The Year of Restoring Trust and Honor" Saemaeul Geumgo 61st Anniversary

The National Credit Union Federation of Korea (Saemaeul Geumgo Central Association) announced on the 27th that it held the ‘61st Anniversary Ceremony of Saemaeul Geumgo Foundation’ on the 24th at the MG Human Resources Development Center in Cheonan, Chungnam.

Under the slogan “The Beginning of a Strong Step Toward a Century-Long Plan,” the ceremony was attended by Kim In, Chairman of the Saemaeul Geumgo Central Association, key executives, and awardees. The event proceeded in the order of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety Commendation for Regional Financial Revitalization, Saemaeul Geumgo Foundation Commemorative Awards, Saemaeul Geumgo Grand Prize, and Social Contribution Grand Prize.

May 25th is both the anniversary of the Saemaeul Geumgo Foundation and ‘MG Saemaeul Geumgo Regional Coexistence Day.’ At the ceremony, Saemaeul Geumgo, which has been committed to contributing to local communities through coexistence and the realization of social values, declared its commitment to driving sustainable growth through sound and transparent ESG management and enhancing external credibility.

In his commemorative speech, Chairman Kim said, “This year, we will make it the first year to restore the trust and honor of Saemaeul Geumgo,” and added, “Let us gather the wisdom and capabilities of Saemaeul Geumgo members to envision a new future for the next 100 years.”

Meanwhile, Saemaeul Geumgo, based on our traditional cooperative spirit such as gye, dure, hyangyak, and pumsasi, started in the Gyeongnam region on May 25, 1963. As of the end of April this year, it has grown to a scale of total assets of 287 trillion won and 1,284 credit unions.
