Hyundai Motor Completes Eco-Friendly Marathon Campaign 'Longest Run'

Hyundai Motor Company announced on the 27th that it has successfully concluded the eco-friendly social contribution campaign 'Longest Run 2024.'

Hyundai Motor ended the 'Final Run,' a 10km marathon event, marking the conclusion of the 'Longest Run 2024' campaign, which was held for a month from the 26th of last month to the 25th of this month.

Longest Run is Hyundai Motor's 9th annual eco-friendly campaign linking online and offline activities, which started in 2016. It was initiated to raise awareness about fine dust and to create cleaner skies. This year, over 19,000 participants ran a total of 400,000 km.

The event featured various programs, including a tree badge challenge where participants completed two running missions through the running and walking coaching application ‘Runday’ app, and a cooperative challenge symbolizing 8.1 billion people on Earth running together for clear skies, where all participants collectively ran 81,000 km.

In particular, about 12,000 people participated in the cooperative challenge, achieving a total distance of 350,000 km, far exceeding the initial goal of 81,000 km, adding greater significance. The grand finale of the campaign was the large-scale offline marathon event 'Final Run' held on the 25th, where 5,000 participants ran a 10 km round trip course from Yeouido Park in Seoul to Seogang Bridge.

Through the Longest Run campaign, Hyundai Motor has been donating trees for planting to the eco-friendly social contribution program 'IONIQ Forest' since 2016. This year, a total of 3,000 trees, accumulated through the cooperative challenge achievement (1,000 trees) and the purchase of 10,000 KRW donation participation tickets (2,000 trees), will be delivered to IONIQ Forest.

Jung Yoo-seok, Head of Hyundai Motor’s Domestic Business Division, said, "We express our gratitude to everyone who participated in the Longest Run campaign, now in its 9th year. We plan to continue presenting eco-friendly activities for a sustainable future with more customers."
