Average Monthly Civil Complaints: 29,742 Cases

Recently, there has been a significant increase in demands for the removal and maintenance of illegal advertisements, calls for stronger crackdowns, and complaints about passive responses following reports.

On the 27th, the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission analyzed 774,176 complaints related to illegal advertisements collected in the civil complaint analysis system from May 2021 to April this year. The analysis revealed that the average monthly complaints about illegal advertisements this year reached 29,742, a 5.1-fold increase compared to 2021.

The main complaints included ▲ demands for removal and maintenance of illegal advertisements ▲ calls for stronger crackdowns on illegal advertisements ▲ dissatisfaction with passive responses to reports of illegal advertisements. In March, Mr. A raised the issue, stating, “Illegal advertisements are continuously being posted on utility poles. This harms the city’s aesthetics, so continuous crackdowns are necessary.”

The Commission proposed to related agencies measures such as strengthening the maintenance and administrative sanctions for illegal advertisements, expanding the reward system for collecting illegal advertisements, and developing awareness improvement plans regarding advertisement installation.
