The donated amount of 160 million KRW will be used throughout 2024 to support local gifted students, vulnerable groups during the summer heat, the Kimchi Sharing of Love campaign, child welfare facilities, energy-vulnerable households, and provide winter supplies for elderly people living alone. The aim is to ensure that marginalized neighbors in the region feel the warmth of support. In particular, some of the funds will be used to help vulnerable groups cope with heat waves, actively contributing to climate crisis response.

Ecopro, a company specializing in the production of cathode materials for secondary batteries, has been fulfilling its social responsibility through continuous social contribution activities since 2020.

An Ecopro representative who participated in the donation said, "Based on the spirit of 'coexisting with the local community through sharing,' Ecopro has been steadily carrying out community contribution activities in Pohang since it began investing in the region," and added, "We plan to continue working with the Gyeongbuk Community Chest of Korea so that neighbors in need in the region receive ongoing attention and love."

Son Byungil, Secretary General of the Gyeongbuk Community Chest of Korea, said, "I would like to thank the executives and staff of Ecopro for practicing sharing with neighbors in need despite the difficult economic situation," and added, "We will ensure that the precious donation you have given is well delivered to neighbors in the region."
