Yangcheon-gu (District Mayor Lee Gi-jae) announced on the 27th that it has newly established a flood control information sharing system ahead of the full rainy season and will provide residents with real-time information on the control status of Anyangcheon Stream.

To prepare for flood and water damage, the district has enabled residents to check flood control information in real time by providing ▲rainfall by region ▲operation status of pumps at six regional rainwater pumping stations ▲water level information at Sinjeonggyo and Yanghwagyo bridges ▲water level information at Sinwol rainwater storage and drainage facility ▲discharge volume of Paldang Dam ▲control status of Anyangcheon Stream ▲pump operation manuals, helping to prevent river flooding accidents.

First, the district separated the existing rainwater pumping station pump operation status web page into pump station status and flood control facility information to improve visibility and readability. In particular, it included the Sinwol rainwater storage facility completed in 2020 and the discharge volume of Paldang Dam.

Additionally, a new ‘Anyangcheon Control Status Notification System’ was established, which automatically displays the real-time operation status of remote barriers at Anyangcheon entry and exit points. As a result, residents can conveniently check the control status of three small bridges over Anyangcheon (Sinjeong Submersible Bridge, Huimanggyo Bridge, Mokdong Discharge Pipeline) and the entry control status of the Anyangcheon riverside at any time and place, greatly contributing to the prevention of river isolation accidents and alleviating citizen inconvenience.

Furthermore, to make it easy for anyone to use the pumps, the system includes pump usage instructions and emergency contact information for responsible personnel, and provides links to related organizations such as the Korea Meteorological Administration, Han River Flood Control Office, and Seoul Safety Nuri, offering various flood control information. The real-time flood control information sharing system can be accessed through a new web address or the main banner on the district office homepage.

Last year, the district installed remote barriers and introduced a central control system at 30 locations along a 5.4 km section of Anyangcheon Stream, and operates disaster warning LED electronic boards so that residents using Anyangcheon can easily access disaster and emergency information.

Lee Gi-jae, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, said, “Through the establishment of this flood control information sharing system, residents can now check Yangcheon-gu’s real-time flood control information more conveniently anytime and anywhere and actively respond to flood and water damage. We will continue to provide various flood control information to create a safe city Yangcheon where residents can trust and feel secure.”
