LG Energy Solution announced on the 26th that it held a global talent recruitment event, 'BTC' (Battery Tech Conference), on the 25th (local time) at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York, USA. BTC is LG Energy Solution's global recruitment event aimed at securing world-class research and development (R&D) talent and leading innovation in the battery industry.
Following last year's event in San Francisco, this year's event in New York was attended by over 40 master's and doctoral talents from major U.S. universities and research institutes such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Princeton, Cornell, and Argonne National Laboratory. On LG Energy Solution's side, executives including CEO Kim Dong-myung, CDO (Chief Digital Officer) Lee Jin-gyu, CHO (Chief Human Resources Officer) Kim Ki-soo, CTO (Chief Technology Officer) Kim Je-young, Head of the Future Technology Center Jung Geun-chang, and Head of the Automotive Battery Development Center Choi Seung-don were all present.
At the event, CEO Kim Dong-myung personally introduced his 'career story' and shared LG Energy Solution's future and vision. Kim, who holds a Ph.D. in Materials Engineering, joined the company in 1998 at the Battery Research Center and rose through key positions in R&D, product planning, production, and business division head before becoming CEO.
He said, "It feels like just yesterday that I joined LG with dreams and visions, and now I am leading the company as CEO," adding, "I attended this event with the mindset of searching anywhere in the world to recruit outstanding R&D talent who will lead the future."

He continued, "If the word 'achievement' makes your heart race, you should be with LG Energy Solution," emphasizing, "The battery market is now at the starting point of growth, and by joining LG Energy Solution, you will have infinite growth opportunities."
During the Q&A session with the CEO, participants asked various questions about R&D-based career paths, the competencies needed for growth, LG Energy Solution's technological capabilities, and future vision. Additionally, executives from various fields, including battery R&D, material technology, solid-state batteries, and AI and big data, directly presented the company's current technology status, direction, and strategies.
Efforts to secure talent through on-site interviews were also conducted. LG Energy Solution had also secured numerous R&D talents at last year's BTC event in San Francisco.
LG Energy Solution stated, "Since talent is the most important factor to lead the future battery industry, we will continue various efforts to secure global top talent."
