President Yoon Suk-yeol has recently been continuing his extensive communication efforts. Following the 2nd anniversary press conference on the 9th and the livelihood visits on the 10th, he also held a 'Kimchi Stew Dinner' event with the press corps on the 24th, showing a different side from before. This is interpreted as a determination to shed the image of poor communication, which was cited as a major cause of the April 10 general election defeat, and to get closer to the public and the media.

On that day, President Yoon invited reporters covering the presidential office to the lawn yard of the Yongsan Presidential Office for a dinner. The event was held on a large scale with about 200 reporters and key aides of the presidential office attending. President Yoon took off his suit jacket, wore an apron, grilled meat himself, and made rolled omelets. He also served kimchi stew made with his 'Yoon Suk-yeol recipe' to the reporters.

The dinner took place just two weeks after the 2nd anniversary press conference on the 9th. At that time, President Yoon said, "I will communicate more frequently with the media in the future. I think we need to continue having opportunities to explain to the public through the media and honestly talk about the shortcomings."

During the dinner, President Yoon also said, "I will communicate frequently with reporters in the future. I have spent my entire public service career in an atmosphere of frequent communication with the media, so I have never excluded or been uncomfortable with the media," adding, "The relationship between the public service community and the media seems to have become rigid at some point, but let's meet often from now on."

On the 2nd anniversary of his inauguration, the 10th, President Yoon visited Cheonggyecheon Stream and Yeongcheon Market near Dongnimmun in Seoul to meet citizens directly. He greeted citizens who were out for a walk and office workers, giving high-fives and taking commemorative photos. At this event, when a citizen said, "Please come out often," President Yoon responded warmly, "If you are not inconvenienced, I will come out often."

Since the image of poor communication was widely pointed out inside and outside the party as a major cause of the election defeat, this reflects the presidential office's intention to show a changed image. For President Yoon as well, it is necessary to regain public sentiment to secure momentum for state affairs management over the remaining three years.

President Yoon is increasing communication not only with the public and the media but also with the party. On the 24th of last month, he invited defeated People Power Party lawmakers to the Blue House State Guest House, and on the 16th and 22nd of this month, he held dinners at the Hannam-dong residence with first-term People Power Party lawmakers and first-term proportional representation lawmakers, respectively. In addition, he met with first-term lawmakers from Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam, as well as lawmakers from the metropolitan area and Daegu-Gyeongbuk regions.
