Ministry of Health and Welfare Requests Training Hospitals to Confirm Residents' Intent to Return

The government has officially requested the directors of training hospitals nationwide to individually counsel residents to confirm their intention to return to the hospital.

According to the medical community on the 24th, the Ministry of Health and Welfare recently sent an official letter titled 'Request for Cooperation in Individual Counseling of Residents' to the directors of training hospitals across the country.

In this letter, the Ministry stated, "Currently, training gaps are occurring due to residents leaving their workplaces," and added, "As part of efforts to minimize medical service gaps and facilitate the prompt return of residents, the Ministry intends to conduct individual counseling through training hospitals to confirm residents' willingness to return."

The Ministry also provided specific guidelines requesting that training hospital directors or department heads conduct face-to-face counseling with all residents who have left their workplaces.

The counseling period is from the 24th to the 28th, and the Ministry asked for the results to be submitted by the 29th after the counseling is completed.

Additionally, during the counseling, it was requested that individuals' privacy be protected while discussing their intention to return to the residency program and their future career plans.

Based on these results, the Ministry plans to confirm residents' intentions to return and utilize the information as policy data for future resident-related measures.
