Engineering Imagined, Humans Evolving
Lee Kwang-hyung, President of KAIST, Kim Dong-hwan, President of the Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers, neuroscientist Professor Jeong Jae-seung, and 27 professors from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at KAIST share stories about the present and future of advanced technology. They provide detailed explanations of the principles and applications of cutting-edge technologies such as energy innovation technologies that can effectively address the climate crisis and the technical principles of robotic arms, as well as their potential for future development. Efforts were made to explain professional terms and concepts as simply as possible so that even non-majors unrelated to mechanical engineering can easily understand. The Plants Darwin Loved
This book highlights Charles Darwin’s aspects as a botanist rather than a zoologist. Darwin devoted himself to plant research for over 40 years while living at Down House until his death in 1882. Down House was equipped with a vast garden and six greenhouses. Darwin wrote 75 papers and six books in the field of botany. For the first time, seven original texts recorded by Darwin while observing plants are revealed, along with Darwin’s representative work, On the Origin of Species. Over 100 botanical illustrations owned by the Oak Spring Foundation in the United States are also included. (Written by James Costa & Bobby Angell / Translated by Lee Kyung / Dasan Books)
