Students from the Department of Entrepreneurship at Tongmyong University (President Jeon Ho-hwan) held a unique jogging event known as "plogging," where participants pick up trash while running.
More than 80 people, including students and representatives from Nike partner companies, participated in the event to protect the global environment and promote a sustainable future. Recently, plogging was conducted at Gamji Beach in Taejongdae, Yeongdo-gu, among other locations.
Nike partner companies and employees from the Busan and Gyeongnam regions, as well as first-year student Eom Nakyeong from the Department of Entrepreneurship at Tongmyong University (Department Head Noh Seongyeo), joined the program, which included trekking followed by collecting trash.
Plogging originated in Sweden and spread throughout Northern Europe, becoming a globally popular environmental protection activity. Its advantage lies in promoting both health and environmental conservation. The National Institute of the Korean Language selected "Sseudam Dalligi" as the Korean equivalent for "plogging."
