Gochang Healing Culture Festival Opens on the 24th... Abundant Attractions and Activities

Gochang-gun, Jeollabuk-do announced on the 24th that the ‘Gochang Flower Garden Healing Culture Festival’ has opened at the Nodonggol Flower Garden Complex and the Gochang Eupseong Lawn Plaza area.

Under the theme of ‘Healing Picnic Enjoyed in the Flower Garden,’ this festival links the flower garden complex, a representative natural healing space in Gochang, with Gochang Eupseong, creating a dual venue to promote a tourist course extending from Nodong Reservoir to the old downtown of Gochang-eup, offering a wider variety of sights and activities.

At the Flower Garden Complex, visitors can enjoy a flower field walk fully immersed in flowers and nature, while at the Gochang Eupseong Lawn Plaza, they can experience various performances and healing cultural art programs themed around flowers.

Around 5 p.m., when the festival ends, visitors can enjoy the ‘Geumtokki Night Market’ held on the old downtown street next to Gochang Eupseong, experiencing the diverse charms of Gochang in a single day.

From the 24th to the 26th, during the festival period, classical performances by Prima Ensemble and performances by local artists will be held against the backdrop of Gochang Eupseong, and especially, a children’s healing playground program will be operated daily for children.

The detailed festival schedule includes stage programs (opening ceremony, classical performance with flowers, local artist performances, children’s concert), experience programs (soft and fluffy flower making, flower frame making, flower field photo shoot, face painting, collaborative flower garden drawing), healing programs (healing agriculture symposium, healing agriculture stories, healing garden operation), and permanent programs (healing culture city promotion zone, Bellygom photo zone, pet healing zone, healing picnic zone).

Shim Deok-seop, the governor of Gochang-gun, said, “Through a festival themed on healing agriculture with colorful flowers and trees blooming in spring, Gochang-gun, a legally designated cultural city, will establish itself as Korea’s representative healing and wellness city.”
