Participation of All Departments, Direct and Indirect
Sejong University announced on the 25th that it has been selected as a '2024 Software (SW) Specialized University' by the Ministry of Science and ICT.
The Software Specialized University project aims to cultivate core software talents in the era of digital transformation. This year, the Ministry of Science and ICT selected a total of 17 universities, including 15 in the general track and 2 in the specialized track, providing 1 billion KRW to each general track university and 500 million KRW to each specialized track university. Sejong University was selected for the general track.
The entire College of AI Convergence and the Department of Hotel, Tourism, and Food Service Management are participating in this project, and all departments will be involved directly or indirectly through the implementation of AI microdegrees across all majors. Additionally, to foster 'K-Culture-linked specialized and convergent talents equipped with SW and AI capabilities,' the university plans to implement educational system innovation and institutional improvements, strengthen SW major education, expand SW convergence education, and share and disseminate educational outcomes.
Professor Song Oh-young of Sejong University's Department of Software said, "Through this project selection, Sejong University will establish itself as a leading university in SW and AI education," adding, "We will do our best to nurture creative and convergent talents who will lead future industries."
