Cheonan-si Unauthorized Abandoned Bicycle Comprehensive Maintenance

Cheonan-si Unauthorized Abandoned Bicycle Comprehensive Maintenance

Cheonan City in Chungnam Province will conduct a comprehensive maintenance of bicycle racks and abandoned bicycles.

The maintenance targets include bicycle racks managed by the city and bicycles abandoned without permission in public places, roads, and sidewalks.

The city plans to carry out a full survey of abandoned bicycles and provide a 15-day notice and warning period. Bicycles not dealt with after the warning period will be collected and stored for 14 days from the announcement date before being disposed of.

Additionally, the bicycle racks will be inspected after assessing their current status, and based on the inspection results, they will be classified into stages A (Good), B (Repair), and C (Replacement) for maintenance or replacement.

A Cheonan city official stated, “Along with the establishment and maintenance of bicycle facilities, we aim to create a better bicycle usage environment through regular maintenance of unauthorized abandoned bicycles,” and added, “We also ask citizens to refrain from abandoning bicycles without permission and to demonstrate advanced civic awareness.”
