The city of Suwon in Gyeonggi Province will conduct "Visiting Human Rights Education" 60 times from June to October.
Visiting Human Rights Education involves going to Suwon citizens (general citizens or communities consisting of 15 or more people), socially vulnerable groups such as children, adolescents, elderly, women, disabled persons, migrants, and employees of Suwon’s partner organizations to provide human rights education.
For citizens, the education covers new human rights issues such as social disasters, housing rights, climate crisis and human rights, as well as topics like hate, digital literacy, and digital sexual rights. For socially vulnerable groups, customized education is provided according to the target audience, including cases of human rights violations, remedies, and rights education.
For employees of partner organizations, the education focuses on topics such as human rights sensitivity, human rights management, and prevention of workplace harassment.
Each session lasts 2 hours, and the location is decided in consultation with the applying institution. The minimum number of participants per session is 15. Citizens or institutions wishing to receive Visiting Human Rights Education can apply by June 3 through the Suwon Human Rights Policy Team (031-228-2666).
A Suwon city official stated, "Visiting Human Rights Education is a customized human rights education program designed and operated by setting schedules, topics, locations, and teaching methods according to the education target and requests from applying institutions," adding, "We will introduce new human rights issues to citizens."
