Gangbuk-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Soon-hee) is recruiting participants for the '2024 Summer Youth Part-time Job' from May 28 to June 10.
The '2024 Summer Youth Part-time Job' program is designed to provide young residents of our district with opportunities to participate in district government work, helping them gain a deep understanding of the public service sector and valuable social experience. Until last year, the program was conducted targeting university students, but starting this year, the recruitment target has been expanded to include all youth.
The recruitment target is youth aged 19 to 39 who are registered residents of Gangbuk-gu as of the application start date (May 28, 2024).
A total of 64 people will be recruited, of which 14 will be specially selected.
The special selection targets include ▲ recipients or children of recipients under the National Basic Livelihood Security Act ▲ single-parent families protected under Article 5 of the Single-Parent Family Support Act ▲ recipients or children of recipients under the near-poverty categories (self-pay reduction, disabled, self-support, umbrella care) ▲ North Korean defectors or their children ▲ registered persons with disabilities, among others.
Youth part-time workers will be finally selected through a computerized lottery at 10 a.m. on June 13, and the list of selected candidates will be posted on the Gangbuk-gu website's news section at 5 p.m. on the same day.
The selected youth will work for 20 days from July 4 to 31 at Gangbuk-gu Office, community service centers, welfare centers, libraries, and other locations. The daily wage, including lunch expenses, is 57,300 KRW. Working conditions are 5 hours a day, 5 days a week (10 a.m. to 4 p.m., excluding lunch break), but working hours may be adjusted by mutual agreement depending on the workplace situation.

Mayor Lee Soon-hee of Gangbuk-gu said, "We have expanded the recruitment target not only to university students but also to youth preparing for employment to help them enter society," adding, "We hope many young people participate in the part-time job to gain practical experience."
