Delicious Snacks, Club Performances, Refreshing Family Festival... Geumcheon-gu Hosts Youth Festival 'Mat·Dong·San'

Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that on the 25th at 1 PM, the ‘2024 1st Geumcheon Youth Harmony Festival’ family festival ‘Mat·Dong·San’ will be held at Geumnarae Central Park.

Hosted by Geumcheon-gu and organized by the Geumcheon Youth Center (Director Lim Jong-hwa), the ‘Geumcheon Youth Harmony Festival’ is the district’s representative youth festival where local youths can freely showcase their talents and skills.

The festival is a youth-led, voluntary participation event planned and conducted entirely by the Youth Festival Planning Team. Selecting different themes reflecting youth preferences, the festival is held twice a year, with the first festival titled ‘Mat·Dong·San’ (a refreshing family festival with delicious snacks and club performances).

‘Mat·Dong·San’ expands the participants from youths to families in celebration of Family Month, offering programs that strengthen harmony and communication among family members.

At the experience booths, visitors can enjoy 12 programs including ‘Sweet Candy Bouquet’ where they make candy stick bouquets, ‘Smilers Carry Cookies’ where they bake and decorate cookies, ‘Secret Workshop of the Drawing Music Video Master’ where they create music videos with their own drawings, and ‘Cheering Sticks to Help Completion’ where they make cheering balloons.

Additionally, to boost the audience’s excitement, performances by seven youth clubs will be held, including dance by the ‘hi’ team, band performance by the ‘seio’ band, and cheerleading by the ‘Victors’ team.

Moreover, a ‘Family Event’ where families compete for prizes and a generous raffle event are prepared for people of all ages to enjoy.

Youths residing in Geumcheon-gu or local residents can participate on-site immediately or pre-register via the QR code on promotional materials. The district plans to give special gifts to the first 200 pre-registered participants on the day of the event.

Mayor Yu Seong-hoon said, “I hope many youths participate in the Youth Harmony Festival, a time to foster harmony and communication within families and to showcase talents and skills,” adding, “We will spare no support to help youths grow happily and healthily as the leaders of the future generation.”
