Gyeonggi-do Offers Free Violence Prevention Education Including Sexual and Domestic Violence

Gyeonggi Province will offer free on-site violence prevention education programs until December this year.

The on-site violence prevention education program provides various types of violence prevention education, including sexual harassment, sexual violence, domestic violence, and prostitution, targeting residents of the province.

In particular, the program conducts education such as "My Practice to Prevent Digital Sexual Crimes" for youth and "Enhance Gender Sensitivity!" for university students. It also includes education on preventing new types of violence such as digital sexual crimes and stalking.

The education targets Gyeonggi residents including companies, welfare facilities, children and youth, elderly and disabled persons, small business owners, and multicultural families. Residents or institutions wishing to receive education can check the education providers on the Gyeonggi Province Gender Equality Ombudsman website (www.gg.go.kr/ggeo) and apply to the desired institution by phone or other means.

Masunheung, Gyeonggi Province Human Rights Officer, stated, "Violence prevention education is an important first step to ensure that all residents can live in a safe society," adding, "We hope that all residents can contribute to creating a safe and healthy society free from violence."

Meanwhile, the Gyeonggi Province on-site violence prevention education program operates throughout all 31 cities and counties, having conducted 8,897 lectures last year, educating a total of 299,165 people.
