Korens EM and Generative AI-Based Smart Factory Advancement 추진
Team Reboot, a faculty startup company from Pukyong National University led by CEO Choi Sungcheol, and Korens EM, an electric vehicle parts manufacturer led by CEO Cho Hyungkeun, have been selected for the final round of the '2024 AI Voucher Support Project'.
The 'AI Voucher Support Project', organized by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency, is a project that matches companies wishing to adopt AI with AI solution providers to implement AI technology in the field in a short period of time.
With this selection, Team Reboot and Korens EM will work on advancing smart factories based on generative AI. Team Reboot plans to implement its 'askyour.work' solution at the Korens EM factory. 'askyour.work' is a solution that combines generative AI, OCR, Document AI, and STT technologies, providing a variety of features such as generating data-driven decision dashboards, AI report writing, and extracting data from documents.
Although Korens EM operates a variety of equipment in its factory, it has faced challenges in collecting and utilizing data in real time due to a lack of software development kits (SDKs) for the equipment. Team Reboot plans to build a generative AI-based 'askyour.work' solution that can automatically extract and process such data, enabling real-time monitoring and anomaly detection.
Choi Sungcheol, CEO of Team Reboot, stated, "We are pleased to apply our Document AI technology to local manufacturing companies, and we aim to grow as a leading company in the intelligence of Busan's manufacturing industry."
Cho Hyungkeun, CEO of Korens EM, emphasized, "Through this project, we hope to establish a data-driven decision-making system and achieve results such as reducing defect rates and improving equipment operation rates. We will strive to present the direction that manufacturing using generative AI should pursue."
Team Reboot's technology is an improved result of the '2024 Busan Digital Innovation Hub Industry-Academia-Research R&BD Support Project', and has been further developed to suit manufacturing companies by integrating generative AI, OCR, and Document AI technologies.
Team Reboot is building the regional AI ecosystem by signing contracts to introduce the 'askyour.work' solution to local manufacturing companies following shipping companies. Through collaboration with the Busan Center for Creative Economy and Innovation, Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency, and KISTI Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Support, the company is establishing itself as a leader in driving not only digital transformation (DX) but also AI transformation (AX) in the region.
Kim Jaeyoung, Director of Team Reboot, commented, "We will continue to expand collaboration with other industries and contribute to the creation of an AI ecosystem in the southeastern region."
