Nonsan Mayor Baek Seong-hyun Attracts Corporate Investment Worth 606.1 Billion Won

3.7 Times 160.1 Billion KRW Over 4 Years of the 7th Elected Term

Baek Seong-hyun, mayor of Nonsan City, has attracted 606.1 billion won in corporate investment within 22 months of his term in the 8th local government.

Baek Seong-hyun, mayor of Nonsan City in Chungnam Province, attracted corporate investments worth 606.1 billion KRW within 22 months of his inauguration. This amount is 3.7 times larger than the 160.1 billion KRW attracted over four years during the 7th local government term. It is evaluated that the companies were moved by the city's administration motto of speed, responsibility, and sincerity.

On the 23rd, Nonsan City announced that Aluco Co., Ltd. and Y&Y Food Co., Ltd. will invest a total of 55 billion KRW, with 40 billion KRW and 15 billion KRW respectively, to establish and expand factories in Nonsan. It is also known that they plan to hire 300 and 200 new employees respectively.

According to the city, Aluco will establish a new factory on approximately 90,000 pyeong of land by linking the Yangji and Gayagok 2 Industrial Complexes in Nonsan, producing electric vehicle battery cases, solar panel frames, aluminum sashes, and more.

Y&Y Food, which mainly produces so-tteok so-tteok (skewered rice cakes and sausages), plans to expand its existing factory located in Gang-gyeong by adding a new 10,000 pyeong factory to meet the increasing product demand.

Chungnam Province estimated that once the two companies begin full-scale production, there will be an annual production effect of 160 billion KRW and a value-added effect of 31 billion KRW.

Earlier, in February, the city signed investment agreements worth 60 billion KRW with Pungsan F&S Co., Ltd. and Haewon Biotech Co., Ltd.
