"Spreading Safety Culture" Hyundai Wia to Open Safety Education Center Next Month

Hyundai Wia will open a Safety Education Center next month and embark on spreading a safety culture.

Hyundai Wia announced on the 23rd that it plans to open an experiential Safety Education Center at its headquarters in Changwon-si, Gyeongsangnam-do next month. The Safety Education Center is a public education facility that provides high-level safety training to everyone. Hyundai Wia created the education center by utilizing a two-story building of 756㎡ (approximately 230 pyeong) that was previously used as an employee cafeteria at the headquarters.

Hyundai Wia is designing the Safety Education Center as an 'experiential space' where educators can easily and comfortably receive safety training. The plan is to provide training that allows participants to virtually experience safety accident scenarios encountered not only in industrial sites but also in daily life, helping them maintain their health and safety.

Hyundai Wia is establishing the education center with programs on work safety, construction safety, fire safety, safety protective gear, health safety, and virtual safety experiences. On the second floor, a separate safety education lecture room will be created to conduct theoretical education as well.

Hyundai Wia is particularly focusing on 'industrial safety' education that reflects the characteristics of manufacturing in creating the education center. The goal is to raise awareness of potential hazards in industrial sites such as entrapment in automated lines, industrial robot accidents, electric shocks, collisions involving forklifts and cranes, and to intensively educate on prevention measures.

Hyundai Wia also plans to specialize in industrial health education at the Safety Education Center. This includes posture correction training to prevent musculoskeletal disorders, safety inspection techniques and rescue operation training in confined spaces, and training on the proper use of protective equipment used in various industrial sites.

A Hyundai Wia official stated, "We will strive to ensure that not only Hyundai Wia but everyone using the Safety Education Center develops safety awareness and contributes to creating a safer society."
