Three Communities in Icheon City Designated as 'Lifelong Learning Village Communities'

On the 23rd, Icheon City in Gyeonggi Province announced that three community groups within the city have been selected as Gyeonggi Province's 'Lifelong Learning Village Communities.'

The 'Lifelong Learning Village Community' is a project designated by Gyeonggi Province aimed at creating a learning ecosystem where learning, work, and culture circulate positively, centered around village learning coordinators.

The newly designated communities are ▲Daltteuneun Dohwa Gonggam (Dori-ri, Daewol-myeon) ▲Saeul Learning Village (Suha-ri, Sindun-myeon) ▲Saeumtteul Yesul Hanmadang (Saeum-dong). Previously, the city produced 45 village activists, including learning coordinators and resident instructors, through a village activist training course last year to form lifelong learning villages.

The city explained that the newly selected lifelong learning villages are significant because they plan customized programs tailored to each village's characteristics and open village idle spaces as learning spaces to the public.

A city official stated that the designation holds even greater meaning.

Meanwhile, with this designation, the number of lifelong learning villages in Icheon City has increased to a total of eight, including the existing ▲Sansuyu Hakdang (Dorip-ri, Baeksa-myeon) ▲Onmaeul Open School (Hyeonbang-ri, Baeksa-myeon) ▲Picture Book Planting Village (Mojon-ri, Baeksa-myeon) ▲Dadaikseon Happy Jeungpodong (Jeungpo-dong) ▲Meosinneun Dangol Saramdeul (Seolseong-myeon).
