USGA Major Tournament Additional 30 Participants Announced
Eligibility Within Top 60 World Rankings as of May 20

World No. 23 An Byeong-hun has secured a spot in the 124th US Open, a major championship.
The United States Golf Association (USGA) announced additional qualifiers for the US Open on the 22nd (local time), scheduled for June. A total of 30 players, including 22 within the top 60 of the world rankings as of the 20th, were added. This brings the total number of exempt players to 83. The US Open will be held over four days starting June 13 at the Pinehurst Resort & Country Club in Pinehurst Village, North Carolina, USA. The defending champion is Wyndham Clark (USA).
An Byeong-hun has had a strong start this year. He has competed in 14 tournaments and advanced to the final rounds 12 times. He finished as runner-up at the Sony Open in January and has placed in the top 10 five times. He currently ranks 9th in the money list ($4,975,236) and 6th in the FedEx Cup standings (1540 points). He has participated in the US Open seven times, with his best finish being a tie for 26th in 2019. This will be his first appearance in four years since missing the cut in 2020.
Justin Rose (England), the 2013 US Open champion, will also compete in the major as a top 60 world-ranked player. After finishing tied for 6th at last week’s PGA Championship, he jumped 12 spots to 56th in the world rankings. This will be his 19th US Open appearance. World No. 6 Ludvig ?berg (Sweden) will make his US Open debut. He claimed his first career victory at the PGA Tour’s RSM Classic last November and finished 2nd at the Masters last month.
Billy Horschel, Peter Malnati (both USA), Taylor Pendrith, Mackenzie Hughes (both Canada), and Erik van Rooyen (South Africa) will join as top 5 players in the PGA Tour FedEx Cup standings. Players qualifying through last year’s DP World Tour (formerly European Tour) Race to Dubai include Adrian Meronk (Poland) and Victor Perez (France). Rikuya Hoshino (Japan), who leads this year’s standings in this category, will also make his US Open debut.
