Sancheong County in Gyeongnam is making efforts to minimize damage from summer natural disasters such as landslides. According to Sancheong County on the 23rd, a Landslide Countermeasure Situation Room will be operated until October 15.

This operation is being carried out to protect the lives and property of residents from summer natural disasters such as heavy rainfall and typhoons. The Landslide Countermeasure Situation Room will organize and operate emergency duty teams in stages according to the landslide crisis alert issued by the Korea Forest Service.

In particular, a Landslide Prevention Team will be operated to conduct regular on-site inspections and patrols in 193 landslide-prone areas. In addition, maintenance and emergency activities will be carried out in dangerous areas such as around forest roads to minimize secondary damage.

An official from the county said, "Landslides are natural disasters that can occur without warning and cause significant damage, so proactive prevention and response are most important," and added, "In case of signs of a landslide, please evacuate to a safe place according to emergency disaster text messages and village broadcasts, and report to the Situation Room."
