The 'Suwon City Bitnuri Art Hall,' which will serve as a cultural hub in the Seosuwon area of Gyeonggi Province, opened on the 22nd.
On this day, Suwon City held the Bitnuri Art Hall opening ceremony and the Suwon Cultural Center relocation commemorative event at the site 1366, Homaesil-dong, Gwonseon-gu.
Bitnuri Art Hall is a cultural facility with a total floor area of 5,237.4㎡, consisting of one basement floor and three above-ground floors, equipped with a performance hall (499 seats), exhibition rooms, practice rooms, and lecture rooms.
It hosts performances, exhibitions, and cultural arts education, providing a community space for citizens. The Suwon Cultural Center, which relocated to the Bitnuri Art Hall building, operates it on a consignment basis.
The opening ceremony was attended by Lee Jae-jun, Mayor of Suwon; Lee Jae-sik, Vice Chairman of the Suwon City Council; and Kim Bong-sik, Director of the Cultural Center, among others.
Mayor Lee Jae-jun said, "Bitnuri Art Hall will become a cultural hub facility that will quench the cultural thirst of Seosuwon residents," adding, "I hope it will establish itself as a 'cultural cradle' representing Seosuwon and, furthermore, Suwon."
To commemorate the opening of Bitnuri Art Hall, Suwon City has been operating the 'Saebit Cultural Week' program since the 21st of this month.
The Saebit Cultural Week program, which began with a magic show by Choi Hyun-woo on the 21st, will continue until the 26th.
