Opening Ceremony of 'Sports-Specialized Deullak Nallak' at Geumjeong Sports Park at 2 PM on the 23rd
Created with Give and Race Donations, a Space for Sharing Culture and Resident Happiness
On the 23rd at 2 p.m., Busan City will hold the opening ceremony for the “Sports-Specialized Children's Complex Cultural Space Deullak Nallak” at Geumjeong Sports Park.
Today's event will be attended by Lee Joonseung, Deputy Mayor for Administrative Affairs of Busan City; Mathias Vaitl, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Korea; Choi Byeonghan, CEO of Busan MBC; Kim Byeonggi, Director of the Kids & Future Foundation; Lee Eunjung, Executive Director of Mercedes-Benz Korea; as well as local children and residents, who will celebrate the opening.
The newly established “Deullak Nallak” was created with donations from citizens who participated in the “10th Give & Race” (marathon event), a donation culture promotion campaign jointly hosted last year by the Mercedes-Benz Corporate Social Responsibility Committee, Busan MBC, and the Kids & Future Foundation.
“Give & Race” was held offline last year for the first time in three years, and part of the participation fees from this campaign (marathon) was used for the establishment of the Busan City Sports-Specialized Children's Complex Cultural Space Deullak Nallak.
Funded by donations from citizens who enjoy sports in daily life, the space has been reborn as a sports-friendly venue where children and parents can easily embrace sports from early childhood and enjoy activities together at any time.
This “Sports-Specialized Deullak Nallak” was created by utilizing unused space within Geumjeong Sports Park, covering a total area of 178 square meters, with a project budget of 600 million won. Notably, it has been designed as a barrier-free children's complex cultural space that considers socially disadvantaged groups, allowing both non-disabled and disabled children to use the facilities together physically and emotionally.
The interior space consists of: ▲Analog Play Content Zone (indoor net playground) ▲Digital Play Content Zone (sports-specialized motion interactive content) ▲EBS Play Together English Learning Zone. It is characterized by being a barrier-free space that combines virtual/augmented reality (VR/AR) with analog sports facilities.
Additionally, in line with the plan to promote Busan as an “English-Friendly City,” the “Deullak Nallak Play with English” program has been selected for support, and children's English education programs will also be operated.
The facility is open from Wednesday to Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Anyone interested, including children, families, and local residents, can use the space freely.
Nearby, there are various experience facilities such as a virtual reality sports experience center, a small library, and a disaster safety experience center, making it a happy space for citizens visiting with children.
Mayor Park Hyungjoon said, “The newly opened ‘Sports-Specialized Children's Complex Cultural Space Deullak Nallak’ will be a joyful learning place for children, offering experiences and education with specialized sports content. In particular, I hope that this space, created through citizens' donations, will become a leading venue for spreading the culture of sharing among children and citizens.”
