The results will be announced at 10 a.m. on the 20th of next month. Winners must pay the facility usage fee by 6 p.m. on the 26th of next month; failure to pay will result in cancellation of the winning status.
Rooms not won in the peak season lottery and those not paid for can be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 10 a.m. on the 27th of next month.
Applications for lottery use of natural recreation forest rooms or camping facilities are limited to one application per person for a maximum of 2 nights and 3 days. However, on the last day of the peak season, August 24, only 1 night and 2 days can be applied for.
The Korea National Park Service applies a lottery method implemented on a blockchain platform to ensure transparency and fairness in the lottery process when selecting users.
Kim Myung-jong, Director of the Korea National Park Service, said, “We have improved facilities and scenery so that the public can use forest recreation services more conveniently during the hot summer vacation season,” and added, “We hope everyone enjoys a cool summer vacation while experiencing various forest recreation cultural programs at the natural recreation forests.”
