Shinsegae Property and Gyeonggi-do Sign ESG Agreement... Creating a Sustainable Future Together

Shinsegae Property announced on the 21st that it will join hands with Gyeonggi Province to engage in comprehensive Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) cooperation.

On the same day, Shinsegae Property signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Gyeonggi Province titled "ESG Activation for a Future Shining with Opportunities." The signing ceremony held at the Starfield Suwon Byeolmadang Library was attended by Gyeonggi Governor Kim Dong-yeon, Shinsegae Property President Lim Young-rok, key officials from both sides, and over 200 residents of the province.

This agreement was established to enable administrative agencies and leading local companies to join forces to promote sustainable development in the community and to practice comprehensive cooperation related to ESG, including environment, society, and various related mechanisms. The public and private sectors will collaborate to derive specific cooperative measures in ESG fields such as climate, coexistence, culture, welfare, and social value measurement.

Through this agreement, Shinsegae Property plans to strengthen various ESG activities based at four Starfields (Hanam, Goyang, Anseong, Suwon) and two Starfield Cities (Bucheon, Wirye) within Gyeonggi Province, aiming to create exemplary cases of sustainable regional development by garnering empathy and participation from Starfield customers and Gyeonggi residents.

Gyeonggi Governor Kim Dong-yeon stated, "We will continue successful public-private joint responses to create a sustainable future society," adding, "We will prepare various programs so that more residents can experience and practice ESG values."

Shinsegae Property President Lim Young-rok said, "We expect great synergy from the collaboration between Shinsegae Property, which has been committed to regional coexistence, and Gyeonggi Province, which has led the spread of ESG values," and added, "Going forward, Shinsegae Property will actively cooperate with the region for sustainable community development and continue joint efforts for the happiness of future generations."
