Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do, is launching a comprehensive crackdown on the fraudulent distribution of Damyang Love Gift Certificates.
According to Damyang-gun on the 21st, this crackdown will be conducted by forming two public-private joint inspection teams under the supervision of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety until the 31st.
▲Acts suspected of receiving or exchanging gift certificates without selling goods or providing services ▲Exchanging gift certificates received through transactions exceeding actual sales ▲Franchise owners purchasing gift certificates under another person's name and then exchanging them will be the main focus of the crackdown.
The county plans to monitor usage patterns (purchase amount, usage location, etc.) through resident reports and the Damyang Love Gift Certificate integrated management system, analyze franchisees' gift certificate exchange details, and conduct on-site visits for enforcement.
Franchisees caught will face strict measures such as fines up to 20 million KRW, cancellation of franchise status, and confiscation of fraudulently used gift certificates. Those who refuse or obstruct investigations will be fined up to 5 million KRW. Additionally, users' individual purchase periods will be limited to a maximum of five years.
A county official stated, “Through this crackdown, we will establish a sound transaction order for Damyang Love Gift Certificates and prevent fraudulent distribution. We will continue to strive to revitalize the local economy through smooth gift certificate operation and management.”
