Hongseong-gun Launches Full Operation of 3 Electric Low-Floor Buses

Hongseong-gun, Chungnam announced on the 21st that it will officially operate electric low-floor buses.

To realize eco-friendly policies, the county introduced three electric low-floor buses this month. The newly introduced electric low-floor buses use zero-emission electric power, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and significantly lowering energy costs compared to fossil fuels. Additionally, the buses have low floors and no steps at the entrances, allowing transportation-vulnerable individuals to board and alight safely.

The county plans to introduce more electric low-floor buses in June and October, operating a total of seven buses this year, with plans to increase the number annually.

Lee Soon-kwang, Director of the Construction and Transportation Department, said, "We introduced electric low-floor buses to provide eco-friendly and advanced public transportation services," adding, "We will continue to introduce electric low-floor buses every year to make public transportation more convenient for residents."
