The Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation announced on the 21st that it will hold the ‘5 Artists 5 Colors Exhibition,’ which combines painting and photography, at the special exhibition hall of the Currency Museum until the 9th of next month.
This exhibition was prepared as a joint exhibition of ‘D·N·A (Daejeon·Noteworthy·Artists),’ a group of artists active in different fields.
D·N·A implies ‘Artists Noteworthy in Daejeon.’ The planning intention of this exhibition is for artists working in different fields to come together, mutually respect each other’s artistic disciplines, interact, and fuse their arts.
Five artists are participating in the exhibition.
Artist Ryu Young-shin will present works that express the rhythm of life by capturing the freedom of the soul on canvas with subtle colors.
Jang In-su, who works as both a poet and painter, will communicate with visitors through naturalistic works focusing on nature as the main subject; Hong Chun-gi will present works featuring peonies and lotuses that embody traditional meanings on canvas; Kim Young-sim will express the meaning of human life through works themed on the creation and extinction of nature.
Additionally, photographer Baek Cheol-ho will exhibit works capturing the beauty of nature through his camera lens, allowing visitors to appreciate various works such as paintings and photographs in one place.
The exhibited works consist of five colors harmonizing together, including colored paintings and oil paintings that evoke Korean sentiment and beauty, mixed-media paintings created by combining various materials, and photographic works expressing the inner meanings of objects.
Sung Chang-hoon, president of the Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation, said, “We hope visitors to the exhibition will have the opportunity to broaden their cultural knowledge by appreciating the fusion of different artistic fields,” and added, “In this season when the greenery deepens, we hope families enjoy these unique spring-filled works at the Currency Museum.”
