Cello and Violin Melodies, a Moving Stage
On the 18th, a special busking performance was held in a 100,000-pyeong rye field at the Seomjingang Fairy Tale Garden to celebrate the 14th Gokseong World Rose Festival.
Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that they planned the busking performance to expand the festival area from Seomjingang Train Village to Seomjingang Fairy Tale Garden in celebration of the Gokseong World Rose Festival.
On the 18th and 19th, as well as on the weekends of the 25th and 26th at 3 PM and 5 PM, visitors can enjoy cello and violin performances up close in the refreshing rye field of the Fairy Tale Garden.
The performances held in the rye field consist of familiar pieces such as Gabriel's Oboe, Salut d'Amour, You Raise Me Up, and Carousel of Life.
Performer Jaehong Byeon said, “Although not many people have come yet, the enthusiastic response from those who participate is so great that I get excited and don’t even notice the heat. Performing in this magnificent rye field is truly an honor and I am very grateful as a musician.”
One spectator said, “I saw it on Instagram and made time to come. It was so sweet and beautiful that I found myself dancing without realizing it,” adding, “I will definitely remember the next busking schedule and come again.”
The 14th Gokseong World Rose Festival, under the theme “With the Rose, We Are All Roses,” opened on the 17th and runs until the 26th.
The festival venue, Seomjingang Train Village, is located at 232 Gicha Village, Ogok-myeon, Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do. Admission is 5,000 won, and during the festival period, ticket sales at Seomjingang Train Village are from 8 AM to 8 PM.
