On the 19th (local time), according to the Israeli daily The Jerusalem Post, several Israeli rabbis interpreted the emergency landing of the helicopter carrying President Raisi as an act of divine intervention.

Rabbi Mayer Abutbul criticized Raisi on Facebook using expressions such as 'the executioner of Tehran' and 'dog.'

Abutbul stated that the crash was God's punishment, saying that because Raisi "wanted to execute Jews, God caused the helicopter crash to scatter him and all the passengers who despise Israel to the wind."

Another rabbi, Ben Achi, wrote on Facebook, "God said no more, so pity yourself. You have angered Him," describing the accident as a spiritual retribution for the actions of President Raisi and his administration.

Rabbi Yitzhak Batzri compared President Raisi to 'Haman,' a villain from the Bible.

Batzri posted on social media, "The wicked Haman was injured in a helicopter accident," quoting a verse from the Book of Psalms: "Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His mercy endures forever."

The remarks by these rabbis were made before the Iranian government officially confirmed President Raisi's death on the 20th. The Jerusalem Post reported that the rabbis' statements were due to Raisi's past comments about Israel and the Holocaust.

In 2022, President Raisi stated in an interview, "There are traces that the Holocaust happened. But if such a thing occurred, investigation and inquiry are necessary."
