Recognizing the Seriousness of Marine Pollution and Contributing to Ocean Protection
National Mokpo University (President Song Ha-cheol) announced on the 20th that a special ESG Friends Plogging event for marine protection activities was held on the 17th at the coastal beach of Gohado Witmaeul in Mokpo City, organized by the 2024 Donghaeng Student Council.
The ESG Friends Plogging, organized by the National Mokpo University Student Council, was promoted with the purpose of raising awareness of the seriousness of marine pollution and contributing to marine protection by cleaning up abandoned coastal waste mainly around the school’s coastal areas.
For the plogging event, the ‘With Me Plogging’ group provided gloves and tongs, and Mokpo City also supported the necessary supplies for waste collection, enabling the activity to proceed smoothly.

President Song Ha-cheol said, “I am pleased that many students participated in this plogging event conducted as part of the ESG campaign,” and promised, “Furthermore, we will actively support students and faculty members to voluntarily participate together in social contribution activities in the future.”
