Dual Acquisition of Main and Reserve Equipment... Uninterrupted Communication Service in Emergencies
Establishment of Concentrated Monitoring and Real-Time Control System for Service Equipment During Event Period
KT Jeonnam-Jeonbuk Regional Headquarters (Head: Jijeong Yong) is making thorough preparations for the establishment of information and communication and network infrastructure necessary for each event to provide fast and comfortable communication services for the successful hosting of the 53rd National Youth Sports Festival.
KT Jeonnam-Jeonbuk Regional Headquarters announced on the 20th that it will build a high-quality information and communication network necessary for each event at 50 major venues, including the target comprehensive stadium, for this National Youth Sports Festival.
To enable athletes, festival officials, and spectators to use smooth communication services such as internet, IPTV, telephone, and fax, 1,360 communication lines and 1,473 communication devices have been installed, and new optical cables have been completed at venues requiring additional communication lines. Preparations have been completed to ensure no interruption in communication services even in emergencies by securing main and backup equipment for smooth data transmission.
In anticipation of large crowds, three major locations including the main stadium will provide a comfortable data usage environment by securing coverage through optimization of base station equipment to ensure stable mobile communication traffic.
A control system capable of real-time monitoring of communication service abnormalities at all venues during the event period has been established, enabling proactive fault detection before users notice any issues, allowing for prompt fault recovery and rapid restoration of normal services. Control personnel and dedicated AS staff will be deployed on-site at major venues for operation.
To prevent security incidents, the information and communication network will be constructed by separating the operational network and the press network, and configured to prevent mixing of wired and wireless communication networks, operating as a stable and secure communication network. From one day before the event, a joint comprehensive situation room operation system with Jeollanam-do will be implemented to support the festival.
Head Jijeong Yong said, “We will perfectly establish the information and communication infrastructure to ensure the successful hosting of the National Youth Sports Festival held in Jeonnam,” and added, “We will make every effort to maintain stable operation until the conclusion of this important event for youth sports passion and growth.”
