When the Plane Takes Off, Stretching Two Feet on the Front Seat... Even Flight Attendants Can't Stop This Nuisance

Troublesome Barefoot Passenger on Flight to Jeju Island
Witness: "Raised Feet Since Takeoff and Gliding"

A story about a passenger who was seen putting their bare feet on the seat in front of them on a flight to Jeju Island has sparked public outrage.

Recently, a post titled "Brave Passenger on Flight to Jeju Island" was uploaded on various online communities. The author, Mr. A, said, "This is a flight departing from Gimpo Airport to Jeju Airport, but I will not disclose the exact flight number due to potential risks," and shared a photo. The photo showed a passenger resting their bare feet on the backrest of the seat in front of them.

Mr. A added, "The passenger appeared to be a woman estimated to be between 35 and 45 years old, accompanied by a man who might have been her husband or boyfriend. The man was wearing a blue cap." He continued, "She maintained that posture from takeoff through the glide phase," and "I could not confirm whether there was anyone seated in front."

He claimed, "Flight attendants flinched every time they passed by but did not say anything to her," and "In my opinion, they probably thought it would just cause trouble if they intervened, so they just let it be."

Netizens who read the story responded with various comments such as, "I can't understand why the flight attendants didn't stop her," "People like that should be banned from boarding planes," "Flight attendants who say nothing are also a problem," "It's impressive to put your feet up in such a cramped economy seat. Isn't it uncomfortable?" and "No common sense and no manners."

Cases of disruptive passengers causing trouble on planes continue to occur. In March, a story posted on a Japanese online community about a passenger who had a hard time being stuck between so-called 'spread-leg men' on a flight received much sympathy. Also, last year, a passenger on a low-cost airline from Bangkok International Airport to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, complained about nausea caused by the smell of a bare foot resting on the armrest of the seat behind them, which also became a hot topic.
