On the 21st, 'Exhibition and Sale of Products from Vocational Rehabilitation Facilities for the Disabled' at Seongnam City Hall Lobby Seongnam City Hall

Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province will hold an exhibition and sales event for products made by vocational rehabilitation facilities for people with disabilities in the city hall lobby from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the 21st of this month.


Hosted by the Seongnam Disabled Vocational Rehabilitation Facilities Association, the event will feature participation from 13 facilities, including 12 local vocational rehabilitation centers and 1 training facility.


The association will promote and sell products made by 340 people with severe disabilities working at these facilities.


Main products for sale include red bean bread, Gombo bread, snacks, toner cartridges, shopping bags, office supplies, lunch boxes, handmade fruit syrups, Taegeukgi flags, gloves, sneakers, shoes, and about 20 other items.


Facility staff and people with disabilities will conduct promotional events along with food tastings such as bakery and coffee, and a raffle event.


A Seongnam city official said, "Purchasing products made by people with disabilities increases the facilities' revenue and the wages of disabled workers, expands production lines, and provides jobs for more people with disabilities," urging citizens to show interest.


The number of registered people with disabilities in Seongnam is 35,890, accounting for 3.9% of the total population of 919,464.


To support vocational training and social advancement for people with disabilities, Seongnam City provides an annual subsidy of 6.9 billion KRW to 13 facilities, including Hallelujah Protective Workshop (Sangdaewon 1-dong), Canaan Labor Welfare Center (Yatap-dong), and Saetbyeol Rehabilitation Center (Sangdaewon 1-dong).
