Seocho-gu to Host 'Seoripul Children and Youth Festival' on the 25th 2023 Children and Youth Festival 'Seoripul Nanjangpan' Youth Culture and Arts Competition. Provided by Seocho District Office.

Seocho-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jeon Seong-su) will hold the ‘2024 Seoripul Children and Youth Festival’ on the 25th at Seocho Culture and Arts Park in Yangjae-dong. The theme of the festival is ‘Draw your Agit,’ reflecting the hope that this festival will become a space like an agit where young people can freely express their individuality and enjoy joyful times with friends and family.

The festival, running from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., is divided into four zones, offering participants a variety of experiences. In the Art Zone (A Zone), there are free graffiti areas and caricature booths where participants can express themselves through various drawings. In the Glow Zone (G Zone), attendees can discover their own tastes through activities such as making pipe cleaner dolls, creating perfumes, and tarot consultations.

In the Interest Zone (I Zone), participants can relieve stress by enjoying board games with friends, while the Technology Zone (T Zone) offers unique experiences such as robot battles and augmented reality (AR) games. After experiencing the booths, participants receive stickers for each zone, which they can use to decorate their own agit in the festival leaflet.

The Performance Zone will host a youth culture and arts competition. Among about 60 teams that participated in the preliminaries, the top 10 teams with the highest scores will showcase impressive performances on stage. Alongside this, there will be special performances including b-boying shows and popular invited singers among students such as Hook, Hanhae, and Unite.

For the first time this year, an e-sports festival will be held, featuring a tournament to determine the champion of the popular game ‘League of Legends.’

Hosted by Seocho-gu and co-organized by the Seocho Youth Center and Bangbae Youth Center, this festival is meaningful as local youth actively lead the festival’s operational direction and program planning process, participating as the main protagonists of the event.

Kim Dan-byeol, a third-year student at Sehwa Girls’ Middle School and a member of the festival planning team Eusters, said, “It was a really great experience to create everything from booth planning to design work with our own hands,” and added, “I hope all children and youth in Seocho-gu enjoy this festival and make many memories.”

Mayor Jeon Seong-su said, “I hope this festival will be a time for talented youth to showcase their talents and create joyful memories,” and added, “I will always support young people, the future leaders, so they can pursue their dreams and passions.”
