Shinhan Card Conducts Volunteer Activities to Improve Housing Conditions for Multichild Families

Leading by Example Relay Project... "To Solve Low Birthrate"

Shinhan Card announced on the 19th that it conducted a housing environment improvement activity for multi-child families in collaboration with Good Neighbors Seoul Northern Branch and the ‘Seoul Northern Child Protection Agency.’ Shinhan Card President Moon Dong-kwon and employees participated in this volunteer activity.

During the volunteer work, the housing environment of a family with six siblings in Dobong-gu, Seoul, was renovated and repaired. President Moon and the employees carried out preliminary organizing activities such as sorting belongings and disposing of old furniture. Afterwards, a professional housing environment improvement company visited to carry out interior construction, and plans are in place to replace old furniture such as desks and storage cabinets, as well as provide home appliances like laptops. This activity was funded by donations from Shinhan Financial Group employees.

The housing environment improvement volunteer activity is part of the second project of Shinhan Financial Group’s employee participation social contribution campaign, ‘Leading by Example Relay.’ The second phase of the Leading by Example campaign was selected through employee idea submissions with the theme ‘Supporting Vulnerable Groups to Solve the Low Birthrate Issue.’ Previously, about 20 employees, including Shinhan Financial Group Chairman Jin Ok-dong, visited multi-child families last month to carry out housing environment improvement volunteer work.

A Shinhan Card official said, “This volunteer activity was meaningful as it created an environment where the six siblings can grow up healthier and brighter,” adding, “We will continue to maintain interest in multi-child families facing difficulties and provide various support so that we can grow together.”
