From May 23 for Four Days, 30% Cheaper Than Market Price

The 1st Gyeongnam Gimhae Hanwoo Festival will be held for four days starting from the 23rd at the theme park parking lot of Lotte Premium Outlet Gimhae Branch.

The Gimhae Livestock Cooperative Association announced that the festival was organized with the support of Gimhae City to showcase the taste and quality of Gimhae Livestock Cooperative’s Hanwoo brand, Cheonha1pum.

Cheonha1pum, which was first introduced in 2002, has been selected for 17 consecutive years as an excellent livestock product certified brand by the Consumers Union of Korea from 2007 to last year.

Cheonha1pum is operated under a cold chain system that ensures quality and safety by maintaining low temperatures throughout the entire distribution process, including selection of excellent bloodlines, strict feeding management, food safety management certification (HACCP), as well as packaging, transportation, handling, storage, distribution, and delivery.

On the first day of the festival, events such as the Hanwoo Champion Quiz, pungmulpae (traditional percussion band) performance, ritual ceremony, local artist performances, national singing contest, and a multimedia fireworks show will take place.

On the second day, there will be vocal and accordion performances, a marching band performance, and a congratulatory performance for the opening ceremony.

The third day will feature a youth cultural event, pungmulyeonhidan (traditional performance troupe), and a recording of the TV program ‘Show! TV Yuranggeukdan’. On the final day, the festival will conclude with trot, acoustic guitar, and band performances, a Cheonha1pum 7080 concert, and promotional performances for the National Sports Festival and the East Asian Cultural City.

During the festival, the venue will include Gimhae Hanwoo promotional booths, Gaya culture experience booths and exhibition halls, a children’s area, food trucks, and a flea market.

In particular, a ‘Hanwoo Grilled Beef Market’ with 1,000 seats will be set up, where visitors can taste Hanwoo beef or purchase it at a price 30% lower than the market price and grill it on the spot.

A city official stated, “Gimhae is the city with the second largest number of Hanwoo cattle among the 18 cities and counties in Gyeongnam, and the first agricultural cooperative established in Gimhae in 1957 was the Gimhae Livestock Cooperative, which shows its strong historical foundation. In line with this, Gimhae City is actively supporting the growth of livestock brands.”

The official added, “We have organized the Hanwoo Festival in cooperation with the Gimhae Livestock Cooperative to raise awareness of eco-friendly, high-quality Gimhae Hanwoo and to revitalize the local economy. As May is Family Month, we have prepared a variety of programs so that families can enjoy quality time together, and we hope many people will visit.”
