This crime prevention education aimed to raise awareness about preemptive measures and crimes such as drugs, voice phishing, and sex crimes, in response to the recent increase in the influx of international students and the rise in crimes involving foreigners.
In particular, the education was conducted to prevent crimes committed due to misunderstandings of Korea's cultural and religious differences, as well as conflicts arising from differences in culture and religion among international students from various countries.
Chief Kim Beomsang stated, “We will continue to carry out various crime prevention education targeting foreigners, including sex crimes, to establish a culture of respecting the rule of law among foreigners and to alleviate residents' anxiety, as well as tailored policing activities to establish order among foreign residents.”
