Cheongsong-gun Achieves Top Grade Yoon Kyunghee, Cheongsong County Mayor, who achieved the highest grade in the 2024 National Basic Local Government Heads' Pledge Fulfillment and Information Disclosure Evaluation.

The Korea Manifesto Implementation Headquarters analyzed the pledge fulfillment data posted on the official websites of 226 cities, counties, and districts nationwide as of the end of December 2023, to evaluate the implementation of election pledges by the heads of the 8th popularly elected local governments.

The evaluation covered five categories: ▲Pledge Fulfillment ▲Achievement of 2023 Goals ▲Resident Communication ▲Web Communication ▲Consistency. The Korea Manifesto Implementation Headquarters selected local governments scoring 83 points or higher, after monitoring and reviewing supplementary materials submitted by the local governments, for the SA grade.

Cheongsong County achieved the top SA grade through efforts such as ‘Partial Revision of the Cheongsong County Governor’s Pledge Implementation Management Regulations,’ ‘Quarterly Pledge Implementation Status Checks,’ ‘Operation of the County Resident Jury,’ and ‘Operation of the Pledge Section on the County Website.’

Of the 73 pledge projects for the 8th administration, 23 have been completed and 37 are progressing normally, resulting in a pledge fulfillment rate of 57% as of the first quarter of 2024. This is significantly higher than the national average (34.26%) and the North Gyeongsang Province average (34.8%).

Major completed projects include ▲Operation of Free Rural Buses in Cheongsong County ▲Expansion of Jinbo Regional Children’s Center ▲Operation of Neighbor Companion Welfare Center ▲Support for Senior Citizen Employment and Social Activities ▲Maintenance Projects around Juwangsan Tourist District ▲Revitalization of Namgwan Cultural Center. Ongoing projects include ▲Establishment of Golden Apple Research Complex ▲Innovation of Cheongsong Apple Cultivation System ▲Completion of Forest Leisure Sports Resort in Pacheon-myeon ▲Revitalization of Cheongsong Hanok Stay ▲Development of Tourism Resources around Baekseoktan ▲Installation of Outdoor Golf Practice Range ▲Creation of Park Golf Course in Sannam Area.

These projects are being smoothly implemented according to the initially established pledge action plans. If completed within the term of the 8th administration, Cheongsong County is expected to see increased agricultural income through innovation in the farming environment and become a unique tourist destination through diversification of tourism resources, greatly contributing to regional revitalization.

County Governor Yoon Kyunghee stated, “2024 marks the third year of the 8th administration, and the promises made to residents are gradually yielding results. During the remainder of my term, I will strive to complete most of the projects by promoting pledge projects in communication with the residents.”
