One-on-One Counseling, Picture Book Therapy, Career Planning Lectures in a 3-Month Program... Participation Allowance Provided
Recruitment of 20 Participants on a First-Come, First-Served Basis from May 23 to June 5
Guro-gu (District Mayor Moon Heon-il) is recruiting participants for the Youth Challenge Support Project.
The Youth Challenge Support Project is a program that provides various opportunities to young people aged 18 to 34 who have given up on job searching, aiming to boost their motivation to find employment and assist their social advancement.
Guro-gu was the only autonomous district in Seoul to receive the highest rating in the 2023 Youth Challenge Support Project performance evaluation conducted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, securing 800 million KRW in national funding, and has been promoting the project for four consecutive years.
The newly established mid- to long-term program, the ‘Challenge Plus Program,’ will be held at Cheongnyeon Irum from June 11 to September 13 for three months. It expands on the existing Challenge Program by adding external linkage activities and autonomous activities tailored to the characteristics and needs of youth.
One-on-one intensive counseling is provided to set the necessary direction for support, along with group psychological testing. Participants will have time to observe and understand their emotions through films, and classes on image-making suited to themselves and physical health promotion are also prepared. Through activities such as finding personality types, discovering self-efficacy, and restoring self-esteem with picture books, participants regain confidence and explore career paths. They will learn how to write self-introduction letters to strengthen employment capabilities, receive interview consulting, and participate in mock interviews. Additionally, post-management is provided by linking with various employment support systems.
A participation allowance of 1.5 million KRW is paid, with an incentive of 200,000 KRW upon completion, and an additional incentive of 500,000 KRW if employed within six months after completion and maintaining employment for three months.
Applications can be submitted on the Worknet website from May 23 to June 5. Recruitment is limited to the first 20 applicants, and youth who have participated in employment, education, or vocational training within the last six months are restricted from participating.
For more details, inquiries can be made to Cheongnyeon Irum or the Guro-gu Office Job Support Division.
Mayor Moon Heon-il of Guro-gu stated, “I hope this program helps you understand yourself and regain confidence,” adding, “We will share the concerns of young people and strive to support their employment.”
Cheongnyeon Irum also operates ‘Counseling Irum,’ which provides tailored information and career consulting for youth who need policy information and have career concerns.
